Amazing Indoor-Outdoor Architecture Near Venice Beach

In designing a home for one of Venice’s typically long and narrow lots, Ehrlich recalled lessons he’d learned from the local architecture of Nigeria and the courtyard layout of houses in the medinas in Morocco. He calls his approach β€œmulticultural modernism.” The result is a house that takes advantage of the climate and that uses natural systems and technology to boost the home’s efficiency.

I’ve heard the phrase “lifestyle porn” before. Didn’t know what it meant until now. Wow! What a beautiful home and the couple just seem so amazing and thoughtful. I am trying to get ideas for what I want my home to look like. This is an amazing video!

If we ever get rich enough to afford something like this, I want Ehrlich to design a multicultural modernist home for our family. I want those comfy chairs his wife found too. The only thing I’d change is to round all those sharp corners and edges so small children don’t get hurt. This is my favorite houzz house so far.

Wow.. just wow… I would love to design my own house even though I’m not an architect!
Really thinking about making a tiny house to keep myself dept free to survive my mid 20’s and 30’s ;p

I have always been wanting to become an architect, and actually lost hope of becoming one ever since I started IB last August 2016. This video really inspired me, and pushed me more to become an architect all over again. Thank you so much.

I didn’t go for architecture because of my high school mentor who said there is no good living in architecture because the Chicago market is over saturated. As much as like what I do, this is the biggest regret of my life. If you have passion and determination for what you do, you’ll enjoy it and you’ll find a way to make it work.

This house might be my favorite of all time. Only thing missing is it needs to be transported to a beach somewhere, or a cliff overlooking an ocean…but goodness gracious PERFECT combination of in/out!

I think houzz should show more of the house with their voice over. so we get to see more of the house. my fav thing about the house is the octogenarian tree and least favourite was the glass bridge, not really comfortable when u r wearing skirt and people are below. great that he didnt use paint
